Piracy by the Well Healed...

Disclaimer:
This is going to be one long blog and it is strictly my observation and my view alone. It is not my intention to hurt any one

The other day I was discussing with a colleague of mine about a movie and he was saying that he liked the movie "Lage Raho Munnabhai" a lot. A discussion ensued as usual about teachings and observations of Gandhiji - our Bapu. He was of the opinion that Gandhiji's teachings are still relevant today and if practised today the results will be enduring and beneficial to everyone in the society.

I liked what he said and completely agreed to his views. I strictly feel and believe in one thing and that is Honesty. Though I can not vouch for my honesty every time but I feel I am more honest than dishonest at any given point of my time. It has sometimes worked against me in my professional life but that's the way I am. I really can not help it. Anyway, as I always do, let me not deviate from the topic.

So after this Gandhian friend of mine made us realize the importance of Gandhian values, I asked him a question. I wanted to know how he watched the movie. You would not believe what he replied but then maybe you do. He said he watched it online and he did not like the quality of the print! Phew.... Poor guy does not practise what he preaches. At least I do. People watch these movies illegally and sometimes feel it is their right to do so and complain against the sites if they are not allowed to.

Now I am not here to say that I am more honest than anyone else. I have my reasons to be honest, sometimes. I feel my honesty gives me a night of peaceful sleep. I am not robbing anyone of anything as long as I am not doing anything wrong. Why do we have to rob someone of his rightful earning and his hard work. If he charges $10 for something, that is his prerogative. It is our right to pay or not to pay for his service. I am just worried about the lessons he is teaching his kids. Does he wake up and tell his kids," Son it is all right. If it is free it is ours and it is our right to get things for free. If it is free, someone is cheating".

I still remember my friend Ganesh's observation and remarks about why he feels honored to be in IT services. He informed me that it is one of the few jobs in India where at our levels we do not take bribes or deal with anything below the table.

If we, the people who earn enough, can not pay for something which the person providing the service is entitled to, then how can we expect the people who earn less than $50 every month to pay for things which I and you sell or may sell one day. Now is there any limit to this as I call it - "Annual Income of Freebie Demanding Class". How much one should earn so that he can really dip into one's pocket to spend something for which he is not entitled for free? Is there a limit or people really of higher echelons do things or download things illegally?

Confuse the confused... Kudos to Indian Postman

On my vacation to India this month, my wife took me to a shop in Madras, which had the following address below its name.
The address was

Plot no 105
Old No 65
New No 115

Saligramam,
Chennai..

Well I forgot the name of the street. That was the reason, we were asked to enquire the location of "Actor Vijay Weedu" to find the location of this shop when we could not find it.

Hmm. poor postman,taxiwallas..cabwallahs.. Wish things were simple!

Why do Telugites always score in Math

Consider this
1-15-27-980/568-8903

What can this be? Can you remember this? How long does it take for you to memorize this? If I say, you will find this in millions in a place what would you say?

Yes .. this is a typical door number of a household in Andhra. I am not kidding. Ask anyone from Andhra and he would answer in affirmation!
